At the Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani reception in Mumbai, Vishal Batra, Vikram Batra’s sibling, was in attendance. Sidharth played Vishal’s brother Vikram in the biopic Shershaah (2021), and Kiara played Vikram’s fiancée Dimple. The late army officer’s courageous efforts in the 1999 Kargil War were portrayed in the Hindi film, which Vishnuvardhan produced. Vishal expressed his happiness at being present at their wedding and seeing “the true Vikram and Dimple” wed.
Kiara and Sidharth made vows at the Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on February 7. They arrived at the wedding location a few days beforehand for the haldi, mehendi, and sangeet celebrations. On February 9, the couple got married in front of friends and family in Delhi. On February 12, they held a reception for people in the Hindi film industry in Mumbai.
Vishal, who attended the Mumbai wedding, spoke about his feelings about seeing the actors get married in a recent interview. He spoke with the Bombay Times about receiving an invitation to the gathering. “Being an identical twin, it brought me through a range of emotions that are challenging to put into words. I also felt disappointed that I missed Vikram’s wedding. Kiara also emailed us to convey her excitement for our attendance at the wedding.
It is a wonderful feeling that Vikram and Dimple were able to marry in the movie, even though they were unable to do so in real life. We wish them the best of success. They look lovely together. They are two gorgeous individuals, even though I have never interacted with them as famous people.
In the same conversation, Vishal stated that he has known Sidharth since 2015, the year that the idea for Shershaah first surfaced. The actor has kept in contact with him ever since and has developed into a close friend. He also invited him to the teaser screening of Mission Majnu.
Vishal went on to add that, in his opinion, Sidharth and Kiara fully lived up to the roles they played in Shershaah. They developed a tight relationship as they played the roles of Vikram and Dimple. He claimed that it is only right for people to show them love.
