Viewers unimpressed by Hum TV’s Ramazan special, Chand Tara
Chand Tara is Hum TV’s latest Ramazan serial featuring popular actors Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor in lead roles. Khan plays a doctor while Taimoor portrays a software engineer, and the story revolves around their love journey. The drama airs daily at 9:00 pm, is written by Saima Akram Chaudhry, directed by Danish Nawaz, and produced by Momina Duraid Productions.
Although the drama has been received well by fans of the lead actors, a large number of viewers are disappointed and find it lacking compared to Hum TV’s past Ramazan specials like Suno Chanda and Chupke Chupke. One social media user expressed that “People who already watched Suno Chanda and Chupke Chupke won’t like these new shows that much. Those dramas were greatest comedy dramas. No ramzan drama can match their level.”
Others criticized the drama’s forced comedy and regular dialogues, with one viewer pointing out that “Ayeza Khan as a doctor is giving me very funny vibes, she could not showcase the character, doctors are never like this, at least, she needs to learn how to act like a doctor.” Another viewer commented that “In the series all characters were trying hard to make people laugh, sadly, they are unsuccessful. It was very disappointing. Best was Suno Chanda.”
While some viewers feel they may have outgrown these types of Ramazan specials, others believe that new faces with potential are given fewer projects than overhyped superstars. In response to criticism, Saima Akram Chaudhry announced that this is her last Ramazan play.
