All of Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj’s 50,000 clothes were made by hand.

The upcoming historical drama “Prithviraj,” starring Akshay Kumar, is based on the life and bravery of Prithviraj Chauhan. To make the movie, the makers had to make more than 50,000 outfits and use 500 different kinds of turbans.

Akshay Kumar says, “Few movies put in this much work and start on such big projects.” Our movie, which is based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, was made with the utmost sincerity, accuracy, and respect for the real person.

He said, “When we were making the movie, we paid close attention to the smallest details because we wanted this to be the best movie about Samrat Prithviraj’s life.”

“To make a movie like ‘Prithviraj,’ it was important to pay attention to details,” says director Chandraprakash Dwivedi. For the movie, 500 different turbans were made, for example. All of these were exact copies of the turbans worn at the time by kings, common people, and people with different jobs.

“We had a professional turban stylist on set who made sure our actors knew how to put on these turbans,” he said.

“Over 50,000 clothes were made by hand for the movie by a costume designer who was flown in from Rajasthan with his team to stay in Mumbai and make these clothes from scratch,” he says.

He’s glad he had a producer like Aditya Chopra who believed in his idea for the movie and gave him all the help he needed to tell such a big story.
