29 years have passed since Ghulam Farid Sabri was separated from his fans

KARACHI: The 29th death anniversary of renowned Qawwal Ghulam Farid Sabri is being celebrated today.

Ghulam Fareed Sabri received his early music education from his father Ustad Inayat Sen Sabri and gave his first performance at the annual Urs of Pir Mubarak Shah at the age of 11 and was later joined by his younger brothers.

This duo along with the Sabri brothers left everyone behind in the 70s and 80s, Ghulam Farid Sabri recorded his first qawwali in 1958, sang the qawwali ‘Tajdar Haram’ in 1975, sustained his fame and in a period of his Audio cassettes used to sell records.
Ghulam Farid Sabri and Maqbool Sabri also recorded qawwalis for films including Ishq Habib, Chand Suraj, Zaam, Bin Badal Barsa, Sachai.

He created the magic of his voice not only in Pakistan but in most of the countries of the world, when he performed his art, he used to bewitch the listeners.

Ghulam Fareed Sabri died on April 5, 1994 after illness.
