Taxali, starring Ayesha Omar and Yasir Hussain, concludes filming, promising crime and suspense set in Lahore
Director Abu Aleeha has announced the completion of the shooting for the much-awaited crime-thriller movie Taxali. The movie features a talented cast, including Ayesha Omar, Yasir Hussain, Nayyer Ejaz, Iffat Omar, Iftikhar Thakur, Babar Ali, and Sheheryar Cheema. Taxali was shot in Lahore’s historic Walled City, adding a unique visual dimension to the film’s narrative. The movie explores crucial societal concerns and promises to be an intense and issue-based project. It is slated for release around Eidul Azha this year.
Mehar Bano, who plays a young girl from Lahore, praised the director’s exceptional work and expressed her excitement about the release of the film while speaking to a local publication. Waqas Hasan Rizvi, the film’s producer, shared a photo on Instagram with the cast members.
Aleeha mentioned that Taxali not only is a suspense crime thriller, but it also depicts old Lahore’s folk wisdom and humour. He added that the film’s actors would set a new standard in the industry with their performances.
Omar expressed her excitement about the film and the opportunity to work with Aleeha, whom she praised as a talented filmmaker. She stated, “We wanted to keep it completely under wraps until we had shot major chunks of the film.”
The official release date for Taxali is yet to be announced, and the movie is expected to have a theatrical release in Pakistan and be sent to major festivals worldwide. Pakistani cinema fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Taxali, hoping it will live up to its high expectations and critical acclaim.
