Sneak Peek of Ahad Raza Mir in BBC’s ‘World on Fire 2’ Unveiled

The highly anticipated first look of Ahad Raza Mir’s upcoming BBC series has been unveiled. Mir takes on the role of Rajib, a new character in the second season of the gripping wartime drama, World on Fire. Following the successful debut of the show’s first season in 2019, the elaborate cast is set to make a comeback on the small screen.

In this new installment, the Yakeen Ka Safar star portrays a fearless and determined leader of a specialist unit in the British Indian Army during World War II. The released first look showcases Mir in a captivating uniform, staring intensely into the camera. While some publications have speculated October 15 as the show’s release date, no official confirmation has been provided by the broadcaster.

World on Fire Season 2 will feature Mir in a supporting role, alongside returning cast members including Lesley Manville as Robina, Jonah Hauer-King as Harry, Julia Brown as Lois, and Zofia Wichlacz as Kasia.

Joining the ensemble are talented newcomers, such as Mark Bonnar from Shetland, who will portray the mysterious Sir James Danemere, and Gregg Sulkin from Runaways, who takes on the role of a brave yet reckless RAF pilot. Miriam Schiweck, known for her work in Der Staatsanwalt, also joins the cast as a German teenage member of the Band of German Maidens.

The synopsis of the second season hints at thrilling storylines, as RAF pilots embark on missions to destroy German bombers hovering over Manchester, while rescue operations unfold on the streets below. The true realities of war come to the forefront in Britain.

In addition, the BBC revealed that season 2 will take viewers on an expansive journey, from the war-torn streets of Britain to Nazi Germany, the resistance movement in occupied France, and the unforgiving sands of the North African desert. As the troops struggle to adapt to a different kind of combat, the series promises to deliver intense and gripping narratives.
