Shilpa Shetty is a Bollywood actress, dancer, and producer. She was born in Mangalore, India, on June 8th, 1975. It was for the suspense film Baazigar, for which she was nominated for two Filmfare Awards. It’s estimated that she has over 21.8 million Instagram followers.
After Shilpa finished her eleventh grade, she received a phone call from an ad agency asking her to do a screen test. Yash Chopra’s assistant Dilip Naik, sat in front of me while I sat there. Nakhuda was the name of the picture he had directed. I surmised, “I believe he was on the lookout for a new girlfriend.”
During a photo-album search, he came across my image while looking at other models. He cast a couple of sideways glances at me. My mother had joined me on this trip. He asked if I wanted to play a role in the movie. “There is something about the way your eyes look at him,” he said. “Tumhari aankhon mein koi baat hai,” he told me. My mother, who was seated next to me, replied, “No, no, my daughter will not act because I was around 17 at the time,”
In spite of my father’s objections, he came to our house at night and persuaded him that I was the ideal candidate for his film while still allowing me to maintain a full-time academic schedule. That movie, however, was never made.“
