Ranveer Singh Reportedly Cast as Shahrukh Khan’s Replacement in ‘Don 3’; Announcement Video in the Works
After Shahrukh Khan’s departure from the highly anticipated ‘Don 3’ film, it seems that A-list actor Ranveer Singh has been chosen to fill the lead role, according to reports.
Following Khan’s decision to step away from the project due to concerns about the “gimmicky” nature of the universe, the makers of ‘Don 3’ have made the decision to cast Ranveer Singh, who was among several contenders vying for the coveted role in this action-packed movie.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Singh has always been a favorite of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the duo behind Excel Entertainment. He has previously collaborated with them on films such as ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ and ‘Gully Boy’.
The source confirmed that Singh has been officially chosen to carry the legacy forward, and this decision was also discussed with Khan. Additionally, it is said that a promotional video featuring Singh has already been filmed, which will include an announcement about the upcoming ‘Don 3’ movie.
The ‘Don’ franchise, owned by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, acquired the rights to remake the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer titled ‘Don’. The franchise was rebooted in 2006 with the film ‘Don: The Chase Begins Again’, starring Shahrukh Khan in the lead role. The second installment, ‘Don: The King is Back’, was released in 2011. Both films were directed by Akhtar, with Excel Entertainment producing these blockbuster projects.
