Priyanka Chopra addresses criticism over misidentifying RRR as a Tamil film
Priyanka Chopra’s recent appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepherd has garnered attention for her misidentification of the Telugu film RRR as a Tamil film. In a new interview prior to the release of her upcoming television series Citadel, Priyanka addressed the criticism she received for her mistake. She stated that people enjoy finding flaws in everything she does, but she chooses to focus on the love and support she receives from her family, friends, and fans.
During the podcast episode, Dax compared Bollywood to the Hollywood studio system of the 1950s, to which Priyanka agreed. She noted that while the traditional elements of Bollywood such as action, romance, and dance remain popular, the rise of streaming has opened up opportunities for a wider range of content creators.
When discussing RRR, Priyanka mistakenly referred to it as a Tamil film before realizing and correcting herself. The film is actually in Telugu.
Priyanka’s upcoming series, Citadel, is set to premiere on April 28. She is currently promoting the show alongside co-star Richard Madden in the UK. The series is executive produced by the Russo Brothers and also stars Stanley Tucci.
