Shahid Afridi, a legendary cricketer, is known for his aggressive batting and bowling styles. He has gained popularity among cricket fans and is jokingly referred to as “Lala.” Over the course of an illustrious 20-year career, Afridi’s batting and bowling contributed significantly to several crucial victories for Pakistan.
Early in February, Shahid Afridi married his daughter Ansha to Shaheen Shah Afridi in a magnificent ceremony at the Karachi Golf Club. The party, which featured festivities, was attended by close friends and other cricket players. Cell phone use was prohibited during the celebration at the request of the wedding organisers and the couple, which prevented any pictures from being shared on social media.
Shahid Afridi has been actively involved in charitable initiatives ever since he stopped playing professional cricket, which could surprise some people. Since he has a strong desire to help those in need, he routinely visits underdeveloped villages to bring joy and hope to those who are suffering.
Afridi also set up his own charitable foundation as part of his ongoing work to make the lives of the most vulnerable people better.
Recently, the Tableeghi Ijtima, an important annual event, took place in Orangi, Karachi, over the course of three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). There were many attendees, including from Karachi, who travelled from all around Pakistan. In one of the pictures that were posted on social media at the time, Shahid could be seen. The intriguing image of Afridi nodding off on the ground emphasised the equality and humility that Islam upholds, which holds that everyone is equal in God’s eyes, regardless of wealth or status.
See Shahid Afridi, the former leader of the Pakistan Cricket Team and team chairman, taking part in the Karachi Tableeghi Ijtima in the images below.
We ask Allah to protect Lala from the hatred of jealous humans. All those who participated in the Ijtima, including Shahid Afridi, may Allah bless their homes and bestow blessings and benefits upon them. Ameen.
