KARACHI: People associated with the Pakistan showbiz industry are expressing their happiness at the election of Parvez Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Shahbaz Sharif was elected as the Chief Minister of Punjab after the Deputy Speaker’s ruling in the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab, but this decision of the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Dost Muhammad Mazari, was challenged in the Supreme Court.

Since then, the eyes of the entire nation were waiting for the justice of the Supreme Court, but the waiting hours ended last night when the Supreme Court annulled the ruling of the Deputy Speaker in the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab and appointed Chaudhry Parvez Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab.

While delivering an 11-page verdict, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial said that Hamza Shehbaz Sharif’s oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab was unconstitutional, after which President of Pakistan Arif Alvi administered the oath of office to Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab at 2 pm.

On hearing the decision of the Supreme Court, where there was a wave of happiness in the nation, the showbiz personalities who supported Imran Khan also expressed their happiness and gave their reactions on social media.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar congratulated the nation and wrote, “Congratulations on the death of arrogance at the hands of the judiciary.”

Actor Muneeb Butt wrote in a tweet that “Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari should be arrested for breaking the constitution”.

Shehbaz Sharif wrote to Arsalan Naseer with open arms, “Brother Hamza Shehbaz, if that sherwani is ready, send it to me.” It will come in handy for the celebration.

He further wrote that “Bhai Hamza, there is nothing to worry about. Lock the office from inside”.

In another tweet, he said, “The ministry is this Turkish ice cream.”

Opposition actress Ifat Umar also gave her reaction and wrote that “all the hard work and money invested in Imran’s project can never be flushed out”.
