“Javed Iqbal” wins best actor and director at the UK Asian Film Festival.

The Pakistani movie Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer won two awards at the UK Asian Film Festival, even though it is illegal in Pakistan.
The award for best actor went to Yasir Hussain, who played the famous Pakistani serial killer Javed Iqbal. Best Director went to the writer and director of the crime thriller Abu Aleeha.
Yasir Hussain’s winning speech focused on the significance of mental health. The actor remarked that “Now is the moment to discuss mental health and these kinds of screenplays,” the actor remarked, praising the UK Asian Film Festival for selecting the picture as the festival’s opening film.

Javed Iqbal received two prizes at the UK Asian Film Festival. Congratulations, Pakistan! Hussain posted to Instagram. “One for me as (best actor) and one for my director, @abualeeha, as (best director),” he said, clutching the awards.
Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Murderer is based on the story of Javed Iqbal, a renowned Pakistani serial killer who abducted, sexually molested, and murdered more than 100 children in Lahore during the 1990s. Even though the film is banned in Pakistan, it will be shown for the first time in the world at the festival.
Yasir Hussain plays Javed Iqbal in the film, while Ayesha Omer represents a police officer.
