Aishwarya Rai Bachchan discusses her connection with the name Nandini as she returns to the silver screen as the character in Ponniyin Selvan 2.
During a press conference, Aishwarya was asked about the significance of the name Nandini, which she has portrayed in both Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and now in Ponniyin Selvan. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play such strong and memorable female characters, which have touched the lives of many women.
She also spoke about her relationship with director Mani Ratnam, referring to him as her guru and stating that she can never refuse him when he asks her to work on his films.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 is a period drama based on a literary novel of the same name. Along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the film stars a talented cast, including Jayan Ravi, Trisha, Karthi, Prakash Raj, and Chiyaan Vikram. The first part of the film was a box office success, grossing over INR 500 crore worldwide.
