Actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli started their spiritual journeys in Rishikesh. After visiting Swami Dayanand Giri’s ashram, the couple hosted a holy feast called bhandara for 100 saints. Many followers were moved when social media users shared images of the couple asking for blessings at the ashram.
In the photos, Anushka and Virat Kohli can be seen seeking the blessings of the saints who were gracing the venue during the feast. When food was delivered to them, the couple welcomed them with folded palms and displayed their reverence. Virat wore jeans and a sweater, while Anushka wore a white salwar suit and a floral shawl.
They also posed for photos with admirers at the ashram. Anushka had earlier in the day posted a lovely picture of herself unwinding by a river. Reportedly, the pair will take part in more open religious services at the ashram.
According to one admirer, Kohli is the first cricketer or even celebrity who has been so closely associated with beginnings. Think of visiting Vrindavan, Rishikesh, and Nainital. Unlike any other celebrity I have encountered, Kohli continues to frequent places of worship even after gaining such recognition. Oh, I see you’re a man of culture as well; someone else commented.
