Urvashi Rautela Faces Accusations of Dishonesty! Unveiling the Truth about the Parveen Babi Biopic
Claims made by Indian actor-model Urvashi Rautela about her involvement in the Parveen Babi biopic have been refuted by industry insiders, labeling her as a “liar.”
Rautela, who recently gained attention for her fashion choices at the Cannes Film Festival, had asserted that she attended the festival this year for the launch of the biopic film on Parveen Babi, in which she plays the lead role.
However, the absence of any filmmakers associated with the alleged project at the festival raised doubts about Rautela’s claims.
Recent reports from Indian entertainment outlets now suggest that the actor fabricated her casting in the biopic, which currently lacks any substantial buzz. “It is evident that she is lying, and it is fake news. No such project is being made,” revealed a well-informed industry source.
“There are no discussions about such a project within the trade circuit either.”
The insider further highlighted, “A photocall launch without anyone from the production team is simply not possible. Urvashi was there alone, without a producer, writer, or director… So, what kind of photocall launch is this? It clearly indicates the lack of truth in her claim. She hasn’t even disclosed the names of the filmmakers.”
Another industry insider claimed that the statement made by the “Pagalpanti” actor was merely an attempt to seek attention. “No artist has the authority to announce a project without proper groundwork. Moreover, a biopic on Parveen Babi would only be officially announced once production work has commenced.”
It is worth noting that only a mini-series based on a book by author Karishma Upadhyay, with backing from producer Sneha Rajani, has been announced about the life of Parveen Babi.
Furthermore, a source close to the mini-series confirmed that Rautela has no involvement in the project whatsoever. “The series is being developed with an A-list director, and Urvashi is not being considered for the lead role. She has no connection to it,” the source clarified. “When she made the announcement, we received several inquiries, and we simply disregarded the claims.”
Rautela’s lack of specific project details and the inability to have a photocall launch solely with the lead star cast doubts on the credibility of her claims, as stated by insiders.
