Rajinikanth’s Movie ‘Jailer’ Set to Surpass ₹300 Crore Milestone at the Indian Box Office

Rajinikanth’s Tamil film “Jailer” is on the verge of crossing the significant milestone of ₹300 crore at the domestic box office. Reports indicate that the movie earned ₹3.65 crore on its second Wednesday, spanning various languages across India. As of now, the film’s cumulative total at the domestic box office stands at ₹295.65 crore. “Jailer” was released on August 10, a day ahead of Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2” and Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2.” While “Gadar 2” is leading the charts, “Jailer” holds a strong second position. Despite “Gadar 2” surpassing the ₹400 crore mark, “Jailer” is well on its way to reaching the ₹300 crore milestone soon.

Upon its Thursday release, “Jailer” garnered ₹48.35 crore, outshining “Gadar 2,” which had a ₹40 crore opening a day later. During its debut week, “Jailer” accumulated an impressive ₹235.85 crore, although it encountered a slowdown after its second weekend.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film has become the second-fastest Tamil movie to achieve global earnings of over ₹550 crore in a mere 12 days. The record for the quickest achievement of this feat is still held by Rajinikanth’s 2018 film “2.0,” which accomplished the milestone in just eight days. The cast of “Jailer” includes Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, and Vasanth Ravi, while Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff make guest appearances. Tamannaah Bhatia plays a role and is also featured in a special dance number titled “Kaavaalaa,” which gained popularity on the internet even before the film’s release. Produced by Sun Pictures, the movie boasts music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

In the meantime, Rajinikanth has returned to Chennai after a spiritual journey to Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. Along the way, he visited various significant places of worship, including the Badrinath Temple in Chamoli, Ram Janmbhoomi, and Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya. During his journey, he also met with several political figures, such as Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, and Jharkhand Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan.
