Ponniyin Selvan’s Box Office collection Reach 300 crores in India and is expected to reach 200 million in Tamil Nadu today

Ponniyin Selvan added an additional R. 22 million to the box office total in its third weekend with close to 18 crores. 18 crores being generated directly from Tamil Nadu. The second weekend was satisfactory with a 60% decline, in the second weekend, while Tamil Nadu held better with an increase of 54 percent. The film crossed the 300 crores mark on Sunday. 300 crore milestone on the Sunday of last week, making it the third Kollywood film ever to achieve this feat, following 2.0 as well as Vikram. It is expected to surpass Vikram in the coming days, and will become the second-highest grosser in the film industry in India.

It will also be the first film to make more than Rs. 200 crores within Tamil Nadu today, in fact, by the time you read this, it has already done. The week before, PS-1 became the most successful grosser ever for Tamil Nadu. In the third weekend, PS-1 maintained a 20 percent lead on Vikram on the other side of Tamil Nadu. Vikram continued to make the sum of Rs. 24 crores in three consecutive weekends in India, however it was not competing for a while and PS-1 is scheduled to be facing Diwali release next week. If Diwali’s releases go this film is likely to achieve approximately about Rs. 220-230 crores across the entire state.
