Pankaj Tripathi talks about being an Indian national icon

The Election Commission of India recognised Pankaj Tripathi as the National Icon of India for his involvement in collaboration with ECL to motivate youngsters to exercise their right to vote.

The actor reflected on his award, saying “Thank that I am able to help with my efforts in a small way. There is a responsibility to our communities and I’m going to try my best to fulfill my obligation.”

Furthermore, he added, “I intend to do whatever I can to enhance people’s awareness of the importance of voting and the importance of democracy. I’m hoping I’m ready for the task of fulfilling the honor’s duty.”

In 2004 Pankaj Tripathi had a cameo in the Bollywood film Run. Since then, he has appeared in numerous TV and film shows and his repute for his acting skills and humility has been growing. His performance as Akhandanand Tripathi, also known as Kaleen Bhaiya in the cult Amazon Prime Video crime thriller Mirzapur is one of his most known.
