Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit has taken issue with actress Richa Chadha over her “Hi, Galway” tweet. He promised to make sure she faced legal repercussions. He asserts that she cannot merely make fun of soldiers and escape with a note of apology.
Ashoke requested that a First Information Report (FIR) be opened at Mumbai’s Juhu Police Station in a complaint he filed against the actor on Thursday.
“It is unacceptable for a responsible citizen to insult and make fun of our security officers.” When I saw the tweet, images of the family sobbing, yelling, and screaming as the soldiers’ lifeless bodies were brought home flashed through my head. You cannot disparage the military just because you are famous; they are the reason we are still alive. They defend the country. “You cannot mock them,” says Ashoke.
