Twenty-one years later, India won the Miss Universe 2021 title.
The award was won by Harnaz Kaur Sindhu of India, who surpassed the beauties of 79 countries to win the title of Miss Universe and also became the third Indian girl to win the title of Miss Universe.
Earlier, 21 years ago, actress Lara Dutta had given the title of Miss Universe to India in the year 2000 and actress Sushmita Sen in the year 1994.
The 70th Miss Universe pageant was held in Israel on December 12, with runner-up Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira and second runner-up Miss South Africa Lalila Maswana.
Harnaz Sindhu, 21, had recently won the title of ‘Miss Deva Miss Universe India 2021’.
Harnaz Sindhu, a resident of Chandigarh, Punjab, is a model by profession. He got his early education from Shivalak Public School, Chandigarh.
Harnaz is completing her Masters these days after graduating from Chandigarh.
