“Dream Girl 2”: Ayushmann Khurrana’s Initial Hesitation with Ananya Panday’s Casting

“Dream Girl 2”, graced by the dynamic duo of Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, is all set to light up the silver screen soon, marking a novel on-screen alliance for the actors. The gripping trailer and an early-release song have already offered a glimpse of the electric dynamics between these stars. While Ayushmann is reprising his role from the maiden installment, Ananya steps into the shoes previously worn by Nushrratt Bharuccha in this evocative sequel.

In a candid chat, Ayushmann recalled his preliminary doubts surrounding Ananya’s alignment with “Dream Girl 2”, given her metropolitan roots. He openly mused, “My initial perception of Ananya was that of an urban belle. Adapting to the backdrop of Mathura, a second-tier Indian city, seemed challenging. Yet, she surpassed expectations.” Their secret weapon was dialect maestro Yash Chaturvedi. As Ayushmann noted, “Within the vast tapestry of our nation, every few miles brings a shift in accent.”

He further applauded Ananya’s finesse in mastering the local dialect, underlining her commendable prowess. “Despite her Mumbai roots, Ananya nailed the accent flawlessly. While I inherently speak and ruminate in Hindi, easing my linguistic transitions, she showcased commendable adaptability. Her stellar act in ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’, another Uttar Pradesh-centric film, is testament to that.”

Under the deft direction of Raaj Shaandilyaa and the esteemed production helm of Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor from Balaji Motion Pictures, “Dream Girl 2” promises a potpourri of laughter. The cinematic spectacle is further enriched by a stellar ensemble cast including the likes of Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, and Manjot Singh. With Ayushmann essaying dual characters – Karam and Pooja – movie enthusiasts await with bated breath for the film’s grand unveiling on August 25th.
