Cirkus, starring Ranveer Singh, earned barely more than Rs. 29.25 crore in its first week.

Cirkus, the most recent film starring Ranveer Singh, grossed only 29.25 crore net in its initial week. The film by Rohit Shetty grossed 6.50 crore on its first day of release during the Christmas vacation. On Saturday and Sunday, it earned $6.25 million and $8 million, respectively, but beginning on Monday, its earnings plummeted dramatically.

As weekday attendance continued to fall, the ensemble comedy starring Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde, and Jacqueline Fernandez earned 1.75 crore net on Thursday. Cirkus will struggle to make even 40 crore rupees if this trend continues during the second weekend.
The American science fiction film Avatar: The Way of Water, which launched in India on December 16 and has enjoyed another solid week, remains a contender for the Hindi film. If this keeps up, the James Cameron movie will make more money in India than any other Hollywood movie.

According to Box Office India, Cirkus’ losses can only be offset by the expected $135 crore in satellite, digital, and music rights. Both critics and audiences gave the film poor reviews.
