Twinkle Khanna says that parents should go to school before having children.

In interviews and on social media, Twinkle Khanna often talks about being a parent. In a recent interview, the former actress who is now an author talked about her children, Aarav and Nitara, and how most parents “wing it.” Twinkle, who is married to actor Akshay Kumar, thinks that being a parent “should require some preparation ahead of time,” just like getting a driver’s licence requires lessons and a test.
Twinkle, who recently made news for riding in a car with her daughter Nitara in Mumbai, talked about how she raises her children. She said that the best way to bring up children is to “be a good role model.” Twinkle Khanna said in an interview last year that she has always paid for her children Nitara and Aarav’s schooling and that she and her husband Akshay have never had a joint bank account.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, Twinkle was asked why there is so much focus on raising daughters the right way and not enough on raising sons the right way. She said, “I did write a column about how to raise our sons the right way and not just focus on raising our daughters.” If you ask me, just like you need to train and pass a test to get a licence to drive, I think you should also need to train before becoming a parent. At this point, we’re all just going with the flow and hoping for the best.
When asked what she thought was the best way to raise children, Twinkle said that “leading by example” was the best way. Twinkle said, “You are asking me these questions as if I am an expert.” “Perhaps I should wait until I see how my kids turn out before I start giving advice.”
Twinkle’s first movie was Barsaat, which came out in 1995. She stopped acting after “Love, Ke Liye, Kuch Bhi Karega” came out in 2001. Twinkle’s first piece of writing was Mrs. Funnybones, which came out in 2015. Then, in 2017, she published both the fiction book Pyjamas Are Forgiving and the collection of short stories The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.
