Salman Khan’s Twitter account was hacked, and the information was sold on the dark web.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has about 40 million followers on Twitter, which makes him the second most followed person on the site. There were rumours that his account had been hacked.

Reports say that the hacker took over the accounts of many other well-known people, such as the American artist Charlie Puth and the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai.

Hackers, who say they have the information of close to 400 million Twitter users, are said to have made a deal with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.

According to the intelligence group Hudson Rock, huge amounts of information, like email addresses and phone numbers, had been stolen and sold on the dark web. Also, it showed screenshots of the hacker’s Twitter post where he talked about the stolen data.

In his post, the hacker said, “I am offering data of more than 400 million unique Twitter users that was scraped through a security hole. This data is completely private.”

If Elon Musk or Twitter are reading this, the personal information of more than 54 million people has already put them at risk of GDPR fines. The leak of 400 million customer records will now have consequences, the post said.

“The best way to avoid having to pay $2.76 million in CDPR breach charges like Facebook did (because 533 million users were deleted) is to buy all of this data,” it said.
