For the largest eight weeks at the Indian box office, Kantara surpasses Gadar.

In its eighth week, Kantara surpassed Gadar’s previous mark of 21 years and set a new weekly box office record in India.

In its eighth week, the film outperformed Gadar’s Rs. 7 crores, earning nearly Rs. 12.70 crores. The film has four weekly records starting in week five, matching Baahubali 2, which owns the first four.

Although it was the greatest in the current run, the collection reduction from the previous week was still less than 50%. With an extra Rs. 33 crores arriving from outside, the movie’s total box office revenues have surpassed Rs. 357 crores in India, bringing the total to almost Rs. 390 crores. Even though the movie’s digital release was yesterday, there is still enough steam for it to cross the 400 crore mark.

Even if the film doesn’t succeed tonight, it will surely win the night tomorrow at the box office. Kantara astonished everyone by surpassing KGF 2’s sales in Karnataka within the same year, contrary to expectations that it would take some time.
