Pakistan’s Documentary Film ‘Hum Saya’ Honored with International Award

The Pakistani film ‘Hum Saya’ has received international recognition by winning the prestigious award for Best Documentary Film. The film was honored in the category of ‘Best Short Documentary Film on Human Rights’ at the renowned Venice International Film Festival 2023.

Presented by Pakistan’s Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), ‘Hum Saya’ sheds light on the pressing issues of girls’ abduction, forced marriages, and religious conversions in the country. The documentary aims to bring attention to the challenges faced by affected families and their fight for justice and protection of their daughters.

Through powerful storytelling, ‘Hum Saya’ seeks to create awareness about women’s rights and religious freedom in Pakistan. The film has been screened at the University of Oxford on June 16 and is scheduled for screenings in Venice, Italy, and various other locations worldwide on June 23.
