TikToker Sandal Released on Bail After FIA Fails to Prove Case
TikToker Sandal Khattak Sent to Adiala Jail on Judicial Remand
An Islamabad district and sessions court on Tuesday rejected a plea by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for the physical remand of TikToker Sandal Khattak, and instead ordered her to be sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand.
Khattak was arrested by the FIA on Monday from the court premises in connection with the case of leaked private videos of TikToker Hareem Shah.
During the hearing on Tuesday, the FIA prosecutor requested the court to grant them a five-day physical remand of Khattak so that they could investigate her role in the case. However, the court rejected the request, saying that there was no need for a physical remand as the FIA could investigate Khattak while she was in judicial custody.
The court also ordered the FIA to produce Khattak before it again on June 20.
Shah had alleged that Khattak and her friend Ayesha Naz had leaked her private videos. She had also said that she had evidence to prove that Khattak had a criminal record.
Khattak’s lawyer denied the allegations against his client and said that she was innocent. He said that the FIA had no evidence against Khattak and that her arrest was politically motivated.
The case is being investigated by the FIA’s cybercrime wing.
